Stockholm Design Days 2026
Despite Stockholm Furniture Fair pausing its activities in 2026, the design and furniture industry came together to create a vibrant week of inspiring days across Stockholm. Temperatures outside were below freezing and the city lay beautifully covered in a layer of snow and ice, yet this did not deter the crowds, and Stockholm was buzzing with events, presentations, talks and exhibitions, supplying both energy and creative momentum.

During Stockholm Design Days, Hyfer Objects joined Campfire and teamed up with Astrid Textiles to showcase our existing lamp collection, Kakta, including our table lamps alongside a new mobile consisting of 6 pendant lamps. The combination of Astrid’s beautiful textiles and the warm glow of the Kakta lamps was a perfect match. Along with the excitement of the week there was a calm softness that emerged from Nybrogatan 85. Beyond attending events around the city, we spent time reconnecting with architects, designers, press, and industry colleagues.

One of the absolute highlights of the week was being awarded “Årets Inspiratör 2026” (Inspirer of the Year) by ELLE Deco Design Awards. This year the jury paid particular attention to tactile craftsmanship and human warmth. The award ceremony was held at Sven Harrys Art Museum where we celebrated along with the 8 other wonderful and worthy winners of ELLE Deco Design Awards.
"Here, design becomes an interplay between hand and mind, with objects emerging through experimentation and curiosity. The design language inspires slowness, precence, and a deeper relationship with our surroundings. Always with care for the planet." - Jury's motivation

This recognition was both deeply rewarding and incredibly motivating and will undoubtedly remain a highlight of the year. To be acknowledged for being inspiring reinforces why we do what we do. We continue to explore new materials and production methods, challenging the conventional along the way. This award encourages us to keep pushing boundaries, experimenting and evolving in our work.

There may not have been a fair hall to visit this year, but under the changed circumstances, new collaborations and creative solutions emerged. There was certainly no lack of things to see and do with hot spots of design scattered all over the city. Watching an industry come together on such short notice confirms that Stockholm and Sweden indeed is a very important place as a design hub.
